Three Hyderabad TG20 Players Selected For BCCI Emerging Men's Tournament

Three Hyderabad cricket players, K. Himateja, Avanish Rao, and B. Punnaiah, have been selected to represent the region at the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) prestigious Emerging Men’s Tournament in Bengaluru.
The trio earned their red-ball call-ups following their standout performances in the ongoing domestic TG20 League. The national-level tournament is a red-ball domestic competition running from July 4 to July 26, 2026, at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.
K. Himateja of the Khammam Aces was the standout batter of the TG20 League's stage. He finished the league stage with a total of 430 runs, maintaining an average of 107.50.
Avanish Rao, representing the Ranga Reddy Risers, has been one of the most consistent performers for his side throughout the tournament. The 21-year-old opening batter was responsible for laying the platform for the Risers' batting department, scoring two half-centuries.
His Ranga Reddy Risers teammate, Bhuvanagiri Punnaiah, also earned a selection. The 22-year-old right-arm fast bowler bagged six wickets in the three games he played in the tournament. He was consistently delivering the goods for his side before he was unfortunately ruled out due to an injury.
The standout performances of these three players in the ongoing domestic TG20 League directly resulted in their prestigious red-ball call-ups to the national-level tournament in Bengaluru.
