Three Family Members Killed in Medchal Car Lorry Collision

Three members of a family were killed on Thursday, 18 June 2026, following a severe road accident near Turkapally-Muraharipally in Medchal, Hyderabad. The fatal crash occurred when their car crossed a road divider and collided head-on with a lorry.

According to the Medchal police, the family members were travelling from Karimnagar to Hyderabad. The incident occurred when the driver of the car reportedly lost control of the vehicle, leading to the fatal collision.

The vehicle first rammed into the road divider on the highway. Following the initial impact, the car veered onto the opposite carriageway, where it collided head-on with an oncoming lorry. The force of the collision resulted in the immediate deaths of all three occupants inside the car, who died on the spot.

Upon receiving information regarding the accident, the Medchal police rushed to the scene to launch rescue operations. Officers worked to pull the bodies of the three victims out of the mangled remains of the car.

Once recovered, the bodies of the deceased family members were shifted to a local government hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The police stated that efforts were actively underway to establish the identities of the deceased victims.

The head-on collision and the subsequent rescue operations caused a major traffic jam on the highway. Police officials worked at the site to manage the traffic congestion and restore normal vehicular movement.
