Three Arrested With Over 15 Kg Ganja In Hayathnagar And Quthbullapur

The Telangana Excise Department arrested three people and seized more than 15 kg of ganja, valued at over ₹10 lakh, in two separate operations carried out in Hayathnagar and Quthbullapur, officials announced on Saturday, July 11, 2026. The twin operations were aimed at curbing the illegal transport and sale of narcotics in the region.

In the larger of the two seizures, the LB Nagar Excise District Task Force (DTF) conducted an operation targeting a residential property. The DTF personnel arrested a woman identified as Bajrang Renuka Bai and successfully seized 14.135 kg of ganja directly from her residence, which is located in Jakkadi Colony, Saheb Nagar, within the Hayathnagar area.

According to excise officials, the seized contraband is valued at more than ₹10 lakh. Preliminary findings indicate that the ganja was sourced from Odisha and was brought to the city to be supplied to local customers residing in Hayathnagar, Vanasthalipuram, and surrounding areas. Following the raid, the DTF personnel handed over the accused Bajrang Renuka Bai and the seized contraband to the Hayathnagar Excise Station for further investigation.

Meanwhile, in a second and separate operation, DTF personnel deployed in Quthbullapur arrested two men from Bihar. The arrested individuals were identified as 20-year-old Raj Kumar and 23-year-old Vijay Kumar.

Officials seized 1.052 kg of ganja from the possession of the two men. Both Raj Kumar and Vijay Kumar were subsequently handed over to the Quthbullapur Excise Station along with the seized contraband for further legal action.

The Excise Department stated that investigations are currently underway in both cases. Officials are actively working to trace the source of the narcotics and identify other individuals involved in the illegal supply network.
