Three arrested near Bhoiguda Kaman for Rs 29 lakh burglary at relative's house

The Hyderabad Police arrested three men, including two close relatives and a shop helper, near Bhoiguda Kaman on July 3 for allegedly burgling a house and stealing valuables worth Rs 29 lakh while the family was away. The burglary took place after the victim, Shaik Akbar Mohiuddin, and his family left Hyderabad for an Umrah pilgrimage on June 23.
The theft came to light after the victim's brother, Shaik Rehman Mohiuddin, lodged a police complaint. According to the complaint, unidentified persons forced open the main door and an almirah of the house during the family's absence. They escaped with cash and jewellery that had been kept inside for an upcoming family wedding.
Police launched an intensive investigation by analyzing CCTV footage, collecting forensic evidence, verifying fingerprints, and questioning local residents. Officers intercepted a Honda Activa during vehicle checks near Bhoiguda Kaman on July 3, leading to the detention of suspects Mohd. Younus and Pole Sandeep. The third suspect, Shaik Rameez Mohiuddin, was arrested later based on information gathered during questioning.
Investigators revealed that the suspects planned the burglary after learning the family would be away for several days. Mohd. Younus and Shaik Rameez are cousins and close relatives of the victim. The third suspect, Pole Sandeep, had worked as a helper at the victim's clothing shop for the past 12 years. Police stated that their familiarity with the family and knowledge of the house's layout helped them execute the theft.
Following the arrests, police recovered almost the entire stolen property. The recovered items include 134.44 grams of gold ornaments, Rs 12.50 lakh in cash, a Rado wristwatch valued at Rs 1.40 lakh, a pair of silver bracelets, and the Honda Activa used during the crime.
According to the police, the suspects took advantage of the family's travel plans. Scientific investigation, CCTV analysis, and sustained fieldwork enabled the swift identification and arrest of the offenders. All three accused have been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
