Thieves Steal 350 Litres of Diesel From Parked Lorry on Kodad-Hyderabad National Highway

Unidentified thieves stole approximately 350 litres of diesel from a stationary lorry parked near Durga Hotel on the Kodad–Hyderabad National Highway while the driver was asleep. The Chityal Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident.

The theft took place during the nighttime when the lorry was parked along the highway. According to the victim, the unidentified miscreants targeted the stationary vehicle and broke open the lorry's diesel tank. The thieves reportedly used iron rods to force the tank open before siphoning off the fuel.

The victim alleged that the stolen diesel, which amounted to nearly 350 litres, was subsequently hidden in a getaway car. The driver identified the vehicle allegedly used by the thieves as a car bearing the registration number AP30A1377.

Following the theft, the driver approached the Chityal Police Station to lodge an official complaint. Based on the victim's statement, the local police have commenced their investigation to identify the suspects and locate the vehicle involved in the crime.

This incident has raised significant safety concerns among transport workers operating night routes. In response to the theft, lorry drivers have urged the police department to intensify night patrols along the national highways. The drivers stated that incidents of diesel theft have been increasing on national highways, posing a persistent threat to parked vehicles and drivers during their overnight halts.
