The Curl Co Hosts Seventh Chapter of Curl Culture Event in Hyderabad

The Curl Co hosted the seventh chapter of its traveling community event, Curl Culture, in Hyderabad, bringing together local consumers to discuss textured haircare and natural styling routines.

The initiative, which has been visiting cities across India since the beginning of the year, was launched to transition virtual interactions with consumers into offline community spaces. Isha Mahabal, co-founder of The Curl Co and founder of The Alchemic Beauty, detailed the vision behind the initiative, noting that the events allow the brand to hear directly from consumers while offering guidance on managing natural curls and waves.

Mahabal, who trained as a professional hairdresser in 2013, shared her personal experience with hair texture, noting that she spent most of her life straightening her hair before recognizing damage from chemical products around 2018 and 2019. She explained that many people struggle with overcomplicating their haircare due to aggressive product marketing, which leaves consumers overwhelmed.

Addressing practical hair management for Hyderabad’s hot and humid climate, Mahabal advised attendees against sleeping with wet hair or stepping outdoors into the sun with wet hair. To combat local humidity and frizzy hair, she recommended applying hair gel to form an anti-humidity barrier, which helps curls hold their shape longer. She also cautioned against excessive scalp oiling during humid weather, explaining that adding oil to an already moist scalp can worsen hair conditions.

Beyond topical styling, Mahabal outlined two key components of overall hair health: minimizing external damage caused by bleaching, heat, and coloring, while maintaining internal nutrition through adequate protein intake. She emphasized that hair health relies on both internal diet and external protection, as nutritional deficiencies can lead to hair breakage regardless of repair treatments.

The Curl Co plans to continue expanding its community events and product lines to promote natural texture acceptance.
