TGSRTC to Launch Night Bus Services Across Hyderabad IT Corridor From September 1

The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) will introduce dedicated night bus services across Hyderabad's IT corridor and high-traffic routes starting September 1. The buses will operate from Secunderabad, Koti, Bachupally, and other areas between 10 pm and 5 am, with a frequency ranging from 30 minutes to one hour.

According to transport officials, the decision to relaunch late-night services follows a study that indicated a rising demand for reliable public transport. Hyderabad's growing nightlife, late-night work shifts, and passenger movement past midnight prompted the corporation to provide safe travel options.

TGSRTC had earlier operated similar night services under the 'Night Riders' banner, but those were discontinued due to low occupancy at the time. Greater Hyderabad Zone executive director A. Sridhar stated that 15 buses will initially operate across six routes, focusing heavily on the IT corridor and congested transit stretches. He added that the corporation will add more buses based on passenger demand.

The initial routes announced by the corporation include Route No. 10H connecting Secunderabad to Kondapur via Wave Rock, Route No. 219 from Secunderabad to Patancheru, and Route No. 290U running between Secunderabad and Hayatnagar. Services will also operate on Route No. 218 from Koti to Patancheru, Route No. 222A from Koti to Patancheru via KBR, and Route No. 195W between Bachupally and Wave Rock.

Officials said the night bus operations are intended to support commuters who lack private vehicles and are often forced to rely on app-based cabs or auto-rickshaws late at night. The corporation expects the service to ease daily travel for IT corridor professionals, shift workers, and general passengers travelling during night hours.
