TGSRTC to Build New Modern Bus Terminal at Uppal Workshop Premises

The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation is planning a major expansion of its bus infrastructure across the Greater Hyderabad region, with Uppal set to receive a new modern bus terminal. The project comes in response to the growing fleet of electric buses and the rapid growth of the city’s eastern suburbs.

Under the proposal, TGSRTC will remove the existing district bus parking facility located at Nalla Cheruvu near Peerzadiguda Kaman. Operations will shift to the modern terminal planned at the Uppal workshop premises. An official announcement regarding the project is expected soon.

Beyond Uppal, the corporation is planning new bus terminals at Gajularamaram and Bahadurpura to meet rising passenger demand across Greater Hyderabad.

TGSRTC is also working to establish new bus depots in Musheerabad and Jawaharnagar. A 4.5-acre site in Musheerabad has been identified for the proposed Hyderabad-3 Depot, while another 4.5-acre plot along Nagaram Road has been earmarked for the Jawaharnagar Depot. Additionally, the corporation has decided to revive and modernise the previously closed Ranigunj-2 Depot.

The Greater Hyderabad region currently operates 26 bus depots, and TGSRTC aims to expand the total network to 31. Corporation officials are in discussions with the Rangareddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri district administrations to identify and acquire suitable land parcels in suburban areas to support the expansion and improve commuter convenience.
