TGSRTC Starts Groundwork For Recognition Union Elections In Hyderabad

The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has commenced the official groundwork and preparations to launch its long-pending recognition union elections in Hyderabad. The first notification regarding the poll process is expected to be released within the next two to three days. These elections will determine the officially recognized employees' union that will represent the staff in future negotiations with the corporation's management regarding service matters and policy issues.

The election process gained momentum following a recent meeting between senior TGSRTC officials and the Joint Labour Commissioner, who has been appointed by the state government to serve as the election officer. During this meeting, the election officer reviewed the corporation's overall preparedness and sought specific details regarding the arrangements for the upcoming polls.

According to a senior RTC employee, the TGSRTC management has already furnished key election-related details to the election officer. This crucial information includes the list of designated polling stations and booth in-charges, which are essential prerequisites for conducting the recognition union verification and polling process across the corporation.

The upcoming first notification is expected to outline the comprehensive framework for the elections. Following this initial step, the process will move to voter verification, the publication of voter rolls, the submission and review of objections, the release of the final voters' list, and the official polling schedule.

Corporation officials stated that they are coordinating closely with the election officer to ensure a smooth and transparent election process. The preparations follow weeks of anticipation among the corporation's employees over the long-pending recognition union elections.
