TGSRTC Records Rs 505.95 Crore in UPI Payments Over 11 Months

The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) in Hyderabad has recorded a massive surge in its digital ticket payments, with daily UPI collections growing from around Rs 2,000 to nearly Rs 2.5 crore over an 11-month period. According to official data released by the corporation, these digital transactions have generated a cumulative total of Rs 505.95 crore during this timeframe.
This rapid transition to UPI-based payments has been driven by lakhs of commuters across Telangana who are opting for cashless travel on RTC buses. TGSRTC has been actively adopting new strategies to make digital ticket payments more convenient for passengers, which has resulted in a massive volume of digital transactions.
The shift to digital payments has helped resolve the long-standing issue of exact change between passengers and conductors, which previously caused frequent inconveniences during daily commutes. TGSRTC Executive Director M. Rajashekhar stated that the steady increase in UPI payments reflects the deep trust passengers have placed in the corporation’s digital initiatives.
Rajashekhar noted that while commuters previously faced regular difficulties due to the lack of exact change, TGSRTC has now successfully emerged as a model for digital payments in the public transport sector. The growing acceptance of cashless payments among passengers highlights the success of these technological interventions.
The corporation highlighted that the adoption of digital payments has not only enhanced overall passenger convenience but has also increased operational transparency and sped up bus services. To sustain this momentum, TGSRTC plans to continue upgrading its technology and introducing more efficient digital services across the state of Telangana.
According to official statements, the corporation is actively working towards achieving its ultimate goal of 100 percent cashless travel in public transport in the coming days. The management remains committed to promoting cashless transactions while ensuring greater transparency, faster services, and enhanced passenger convenience for all travellers using its network.
