TGSPDCL CMD inspects billing and power structures in Jubilee Hills

On Monday, TGSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Jitender V. Patil conducted a field inspection of feeder-wise electrical structures and reviewed the Structure Code-based consumer service billing process in Vengal Rao Nagar–Kalyan Nagar, located within the Jubilee Hills constituency of Hyderabad. The inspection aimed to improve billing accuracy and enhance the efficiency and reliability of the local power distribution system.

During his visit, Patil interacted with operation and maintenance (O&M) staff, artisans, and Private Meter Readers (PMRs). The discussions focused on understanding field-level operations, billing procedures, and the various issues being faced by the staff during their daily routines.

The CMD instructed officials to ensure that spot bills are generated strictly based on the correct structure codes. He noted that this practice would directly improve billing accuracy and enhance the reliability of the power distribution system.

Patil also visited several Distribution Transformers (DTRs) across the area. During these visits, he reviewed the process of Structure Code-based consumer service mapping, data entry procedures during billing, field-level challenges, and the measures being implemented to address those difficulties.

According to the CMD, accurate mapping of consumer services at the DTR level will provide comprehensive information about the power distribution network. He stated that this would enable faster fault identification, allow for effective analysis of power interruptions, reduce technical and commercial losses, and improve consumer services. He directed officials to complete the mapping exercise with both quality and speed.

Later in the day, Patil participated in a safety awareness programme for line staff. He reiterated that TGSPDCL accords the highest priority to employee safety, emphasizing that every worker in the power sector must strictly adhere to all prescribed safety protocols.

He stressed that there should be no compromise in obtaining proper Line Clear (LC) permits before commencing any work. He also highlighted the importance of using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), ensuring proper earthing arrangements, and utilizing approved safety tools and equipment to prevent electrical accidents.

Patil concluded by stating that the organization’s primary objective is to ensure that every employee performs their duties efficiently and returns home safely to their family. He urged all employees to make safety an integral part of their daily work culture.
