TGNPDCL rolls out digital dashboard to monitor power operations in Hyderabad

The Northern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (TGNPDCL) has implemented a comprehensive Digital Dashboard System in Hyderabad to enhance operational efficiency, transparency, and data-driven decision-making. Announced by TGNPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Karnati Varun Reddy, the new system is based on an advanced Operational Intelligence and Performance Monitoring System designed to track key performance indicators across all wings of the utility.

The digital platform introduces wing-wise dashboards to facilitate continuous monitoring of organizational performance. This command interface provides senior management and stakeholders with real-time access to daily operational activities across all circles, divisions, and sections of the utility.

The system integrates several departments, including Operations, Finance, Human Resources, Projects, MRT, Purchase and Materials Management (P&MM), and the Consumer Care Center.

For materials management, the dashboard offers visibility into stock positions, material inventories, and consumption patterns. It features stock sufficiency alerts that warn of potential shortages one to three months in advance, allowing for proactive inventory management.

The human resources interface consolidates details regarding employees and artisans, payroll expenditure, retirement schedules, medical claims, and legal case management.

To improve customer service, the system monitors the performance of the 1912 Call Center and tracks pending consumer complaints across circles to speed up resolutions.

The projects wing tracks the construction of new substations, civil works, contractor performance, project milestones, and financial utilization.

For network reliability, the dashboard tracks transformer failures, analyzes root causes, identifies repeated failure locations, and assists in preventive maintenance and power theft detection.

In the finance wing, the system monitors demand and collection performance, OCR billing percentages, pending work orders, and common service inspections. The MRT wing tracks power transformer and protection equipment inspections to strengthen asset management.

According to CMD Karnati Varun Reddy, the system will enable early identification of operational issues through data analytics, support faster decision-making, and optimize resource utilization. He emphasized that data-driven governance will play a pivotal role in transforming TGNPDCL into one of the country's leading power distribution utilities.
