TGNPDCL employees donate monthly salary portion to support 27 welfare homes

Employees of the Telangana State Northern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGNPDCL) in Hyderabad are voluntarily contributing a portion of their monthly salaries to the TGNPDCL Charitable Trust to provide continuous financial assistance to welfare institutions. The ongoing initiative, supported by employee unions and staff, mobilises approximately Rs 5.40 lakh every month to assist 27 service organisations supporting orphans, the elderly, and underprivileged individuals across 18 circles.
The Charitable Trust was formed with the positive support of various employee unions, associations, and staff members of TGNPDCL. Under this initiative, every participating employee contributes voluntarily from their salary every month. The minimum contribution is set at Rs 50, though many employees choose to contribute more.
The funds collected through these voluntary monthly deductions are pooled to support the most deserving sections of society. Currently, the trust distributes Rs 20,000 per month to each of the 27 selected service organisations operating across the 18 circles under the jurisdiction of TGNPDCL.
These voluntary organisations are primarily engaged in social service activities. Their work includes the care of orphaned children, the management of old-age homes, services to persons with disabilities, educational support for poor children, women’s welfare, and the rehabilitation of persons with intellectual disabilities. The financial aid also reaches institutions supporting single women, poor students, and economically weaker sections of society.
The financial support is distributed to service institutions located in several regions under the TGNPDCL jurisdiction, including Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Bhupalpally, Mahabubabad, Mulugu, Warangal, Jagtial, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Khammam, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Kamareddy, Nizamabad, Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, and Nirmal.
According to TGNPDCL, this humanitarian initiative runs alongside the company's core responsibility of providing quality and reliable power supply to its consumers. The utility stated that the voluntary generosity shown by its employees strengthens the organisation’s commitment to social responsibility and reflects the human values of its workforce. The TGNPDCL Charitable Trust aims to expand its social service activities on a wider scale in the future.
