TGMC Uncovers Three Illegal Clinics in Saidabad and Singareni Colony

The Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) conducted surprise inspections in the Saidabad and Singareni Colony areas of Hyderabad on June 26, uncovering three clinics run by unqualified practitioners. These clinics were found to be administering unauthorized allopathic treatments, including steroids, painkillers, antibiotic injections, and Schedule H drugs, which officials said posed a severe threat to public health and patient safety.

During the surprise visits, TGMC officials identified major violations across the three establishments. At the Srinivasa Medical & General Clinic, operated by Srinivasa Chari, investigators discovered that allopathic medical services were being offered to patients despite Chari lacking any recognized medical qualifications.

A similar situation was observed at the Hanumanth Naik Clinic. The facility, run by Hanumanth Naik, was allegedly providing allopathic treatments to the public without the necessary qualifications or official permission.

At the third location, DRK Clinic, officials inspected the credentials of the practitioner, Dr. Ramesh. Although Dr. Ramesh holds a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) degree, he was found to be practicing modern medicine without the required authorization.

The TGMC emphasized that the administration of heavy medications such as steroids, antibiotics, painkillers, and other Schedule H drugs by individuals without proper medical training constitutes a serious hazard to patient safety. The Council announced that strict legal action would be initiated against all individuals found engaging in these illegal medical practices.

Additionally, the TGMC issued a stern warning that its crackdown would continue across the region. Future actions will target individuals displaying fake or unrecognized medical qualifications. The Council also warned that unauthorized providers offering specialized diagnostic services, including scanning, ECG, and echocardiography without the required permissions, would face strict action.

To aid in the eradication of illegal medical practices, the TGMC has appealed to the general public to report any suspected quacks. Citizens can share information and file complaints through the Council's dedicated WhatsApp helpline at 9154382727.
