TGGDA Urges Telangana Government to Fast-Track DSH Setup and Doctor Promotions

Hyderabad: The Telangana Government Doctors Association (TGGDA) has urged the state government to expedite the completion of the administrative structure of the Directorate of Secondary Health (DSH) and immediately resolve long-pending service matters concerning doctors.

The state government established the DSH as a head of department through the Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad (TVVP) Repeal Act. Following this, financial powers were formally delegated to the directorate through GO Ms. No. 72 issued by the finance (TFR) department. In light of these steps, the doctors' association appealed to the government to make the DSH fully operational by putting its administrative framework in place and ensuring the prompt disposal of pending service matters.

The TGGDA also pointed out that proposals for promotions under the Directorate of Medical Education (DME) and the Directorate of Health (DH) have reached their final stages. The association requested the state government to complete this pending promotion process within two days.

Along with DME and DH procedures, the association expressed hope that the same approach would be extended to the DSH. Specifically, it sought the timely clearance of promotions for DSH doctors, the sanction of special increments, and the resolution of other pending service-related matters.

Additionally, the association requested that the DSH name be uniformly adopted across all official government records, websites, and administrative orders.

The TGGDA further stated that appointing either a permanent director or at least an incharge head to lead the directorate would significantly strengthen overall administration and facilitate faster resolution of doctors' grievances and administrative matters across Telangana.
