TG EAPCET Mock Allotment Leaves 8,740 Engineering Students Without Seats in Hyderabad

The Telangana Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test (TG EAPCET) 2026 engineering mock allotment process in Hyderabad left 8,740 students without seats on Saturday, with an equal number of seats remaining vacant. According to the Technical Education department of Telangana, this mismatch occurred because participating candidates chose to exercise a limited number of web options during the mock round.

The mock seat allotment details released by the department revealed that a total of 88,062 engineering students participated by exercising their web options. These students competed for 88,053 available seats spread across 175 engineering colleges. Out of the available pool, 79,313 seats were successfully allotted to candidates, leaving 8,740 seats vacant.

A Sridevasena, the TG EAPCET 2026 admissions convener and Commissioner of Technical Education, explained that the mock allotment is based strictly on the choices submitted by the candidates during this preparatory round. She noted that the actual first phase allotment of seats may vary from this mock allotment, as it will depend on the priority of choices that candidates exercise in the next step of the admissions process.

To address the vacant seats and help unallotted students, the department has opened a window for candidates to modify their web options. This modification period runs from July 5 to July 7, allowing students to adjust their preferences for the first phase provisional allotment. Sridevasena advised candidates to exercise as many options as possible to secure an allotment in a better college and course.

If candidates do not make any changes to the options they submitted for the mock allotment, those same choices will be used for the first phase provisional allotment. The final results of the first phase provisional allotment are scheduled to be released on or before July 10.
