Telangana Waqf Board to Correct Gazette Errors for 10,000 Malkajgiri Property Owners

The Telangana Waqf Board has decided to correct errors in the Waqf Gazette regarding the inclusion of certain survey numbers in the 22-A prohibited properties list, bringing major relief to nearly 10,000 property owners in the Malkajgiri area.

Minority Welfare Minister Mohd Azharuddin directed the Waqf Board chief executive officer to make the necessary corrections in the official Gazette. Official records indicated that the issue arose due to an apparent jurisdictional and village identification error within the Waqf property records.

The directive follows a meeting held a few days ago where Malkajgiri MLA Marri Rajasekhar Reddy, alongside members of residential welfare associations, met with Minister Mohd Azharuddin. The delegation requested that their property numbers be removed from the Waqf list after examining the relevant records and evidence.

According to Malkajgiri MLA Marri Rajasekhar Reddy, several survey numbers actually located in Mallapur village were erroneously shown in official records as belonging to Malkajgiri village. As a consequence of these errors, property owners in the affected areas were facing unnecessary difficulties during property registrations and other property-related transactions.

Officials stated that the Telangana Waqf Board officially acknowledged the mapping error in the survey numbers after examining the matter, paving the way for the official corrections in the Gazette records.
