Telangana Voters Dispute Official Claim of 99.92 Percent Electoral Form Distribution

Voters across Telangana have challenged official claims released up to July 11 stating that 99.92 percent of electoral roll enumeration forms (EFs) had been distributed. Residents in Hyderabad localities such as Miyapur, Hitech City, and Alinagar in the Old City, alongside voters in Karimnagar and Gajwel, reported that they have not received the physical forms despite the official figures.
The data, released by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Telangana for the ongoing special intensive revision (SIR) of the electoral roll, has drawn sharp criticism online. Several citizens described the high distribution claims as a "fake report" and a "good joke," questioning who actually received the documents.
Srinivas Kodali, a tech researcher from Miyapur, stated on social media that he was yet to receive his form. He pointed out that while the Election Commission claims nearly complete distribution, many individual voters remain unaware of where their forms are.
Other residents expressed similar frustrations. Santosh Naidu from Hyderabad and Malyala Sujith Kumar from Karimnagar both disputed the official statistics. In Gajwel, resident Jaligama Pavan alleged that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) were not conducting door-to-door visits and were instead sitting at community halls and offices.
Kodali observed that while poll authorities may have disbursed the forms, they likely did so in bulk to Booth Level Agents (BLAs) appointed by political parties. This practice has reportedly left a massive communication gap between the distributors and the residents. He noted that in areas around Hitech City, which has a largely migrant population, most voters failed to receive their forms.
The discrepancy between official figures and ground reality was also highlighted in Hyderabad's Old City, where official data claimed a 99.88 percent coverage rate. Advocate D. Malik Basha of Alinagar reported that his mother-in-law did not receive a form despite repeated complaints, prompting him to eventually submit the application online. Basha stated that the official claims are far from the ground realities.
