Telangana Urges Stakeholders to Expedite NOCs for Hyderabad Metro Phase II

The Telangana government has directed all stakeholder departments to expedite the issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to secure timely clearance from the Centre for the Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-II project.
Special Chief Secretary for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Jayesh Ranjan emphasized that these approvals are critical to securing Central permissions and preventing delays. He addressed officials during a coordination meeting held at the Secretariat with representatives from various State and Central departments operating within the influence zones of the proposed metro lines.
The meeting was organized as part of the clearance process required by the Network Planning Group under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). Hyderabad Metro Rail and HMDA Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmad reiterated the urgent need for metro expansion across Hyderabad and requested the concerned authorities to grant pending NOCs without delay.
During the discussions, officials presented alignment plans for the proposed seven corridors covering a total distance of 122.9 km, along with details regarding existing and planned infrastructure projects along these routes.
Key matters reviewed in the meeting included Right of Way permissions along national highways, clearances from the Ministry of Defence, and coordination with municipal bodies including the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), CMC, and MMC. Officials also reviewed plans for railway crossings, gas pipeline alignments, construction work within the airport boundary, and water body crossings, including the Musi River at Nagole.
The meeting was attended by Hyderabad Metro Rail Joint Managing Director Shivendra Pratap, the Commissioners of GHMC and CMC, and senior representatives from South Central Railway, Defence, NHAI, Civil Aviation, GAIL, DoT, TGSPDCL, TGIIC, HMDA, HUMTA, Irrigation, R&B, IOCL, HPCL, and Reliance.
