Telangana Upgrading Skill Training to Transform Students into Job Creators: Ponguleti

The Telangana government has rolled out several key skill development initiatives over the past two and a half years to equip students with industry-relevant skills and turn them into job creators, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said on Thursday.

Speaking after performing the bhoomi puja for two additional classrooms at the Mandal Parishad Primary School in Gopalapuram village of Tirumalayapalem mandal in Khammam district, the Minister outlined the state's focus on bridging the gap between education and employment.

The project for the two classrooms is estimated to cost ₹30 lakh. During the event, the Minister also appreciated a primary school teacher who spent ₹40,000 to construct a temporary shed on the school premises.

Highlighting major educational initiatives, Mr. Srinivas Reddy pointed to the establishment of the Young India Skills University (YISU) in Hyderabad. The university has been set up to impart practical training through industry-aligned skill development programmes across diverse sectors.

He added that all Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in the state are being upgraded into Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs) to strengthen the broader skill development ecosystem.

According to the Minister, the Congress government has accorded top priority to the education and health sectors, while simultaneously implementing welfare measures for farmers, women, and other sections of society.
