Telangana Tracks 23 People in Nepal Floods via New Delhi Helpline

The Telangana government is actively monitoring the situation arising from the floods in Nepal after receiving 80 to 100 distress calls on a dedicated helpline established at Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi.

The calls were made by family members and relatives seeking information and assistance regarding loved ones travelling in flood-affected regions. Following preliminary scrutiny and verification of the information received by the helpline team, officials identified 20 specific cases concerning 23 individuals who require coordination and support.

According to official details, out of the 23 identified individuals, six are residents from Telangana and 17 are Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) of Telangana origin.

In a positive development, one traveller from Ranga Reddy district has been confirmed safe. The individual, who had travelled to the region for the Kailash–Manasarovar Yatra, managed to establish contact with his family. While one person is confirmed safe, follow-up efforts are ongoing for the remaining 22 persons in coordination with the relevant authorities.

Several of the individuals were travelling across the Nepal–Tibet border area, including devotees on their way to or returning from the Kailash–Manasarovar Yatra. Their last known locations were identified in areas around Rasuwa, Rasuwagadhi, and Gyirong along the Nepal–Tibet border.

The Resident Commissioner at Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi is personally monitoring the situation and reviewing the coordination and follow-up measures being carried out by officials to track the travellers.
