Telangana to Unveil Sector-Specific Industrial Policy 2.0

The Telangana government is preparing to roll out Industrial Policy 2.0, moving away from a generic framework to create focused policies across multiple key sectors, Commissioner of Industries Nikhil Chakravarthy J. announced at an industry event.
The upcoming policy framework will introduce dedicated measures for aerospace and defence, lifestyle and leather, global capability centres (GCCs), data centres, electronics, life sciences, and other emerging industries. As part of this overhaul, the State's time-bound approval mechanism, TG-iPASS, will be rechristened to support a more agile and outcome-oriented facilitation system.
The State government is also considering competitive incentives for enterprises investing $25 million or more. The initiative aims to attract large-scale capital investments, generate high-quality employment opportunities, and strengthen local industrial ecosystems.
According to Chakravarthy, Telangana currently maintains a strong base in domestic manufacturing, with nearly 80% of the components needed by local industries produced within the State.
The next-generation industrial policies and fresh investment opportunities are scheduled to be formally unveiled at the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2.0, which will take place from December 7 to December 9 under the theme 'Invest Telangana'.
The announcement was made during the launch of the Indo-German Gateway Programme, an initiative organised by the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) in partnership with the German Indian Business Alliance (GIBA) and Innovation Hub RheinMain.
The 12-month programme is designed to assist Telangana-based businesses in establishing a commercial and operational footprint in Germany, using the RheinMain region to access broader European markets. Participating enterprises meeting eligibility and milestone criteria can access aggregate financial support of up to €25,000 to assist with market assessments, visits, establishment, and business development.
