Telangana to Support Telugu Language and Culture in Mauritius, Says Bhatti

The Telangana government will extend all possible support to promote the Telugu language, culture, ancient epics, and heritage in Mauritius, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka announced in Hyderabad on Saturday.

A delegation led by Mauritius Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reforms Lutchmanah Raj Pentiah met Vikramarka in the city, according to an official release.

During the meeting, Vikramarka noted that Telangana and Mauritius have shared close and cordial ties for a long time. He recalled the common historical and cultural heritage shared between the two regions, alongside the strong bonds of friendship between their people.

Vikramarka highlighted that Telangana shares a special connection with Mauritius through its language, culture, and traditions. He observed that the Telugu community in Mauritius forms an important part of the island nation's rich and multicultural society.

The Deputy Chief Minister assured the visiting delegation that the Telangana government would extend full cooperation to advance the Ram Bhajanam programme being undertaken by the Mauritius government. He added that the state would also provide support in key areas such as education, cultural research, arts, language, and broader cultural development.

Mauritius Minister Lutchmanah Raj Pentiah said that Telugu people living in Mauritius have been actively preserving and promoting their native language, culture, and traditions through the Telugu Cultural Centre established in the country.

The Mauritius delegation conveyed its gratitude to the Telangana government for its commitment to supporting the global Telugu community and for its continuous efforts to promote Telugu culture internationally.
