Telangana to release final Rs 1,009 crore Rythu Bharosa instalment on Friday

On Thursday, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka announced that the Telangana government will release the final instalment of Rs 1,009 crore under the Rythu Bharosa Scheme on Friday, July 10. The funds will be directly deposited into the bank accounts of farmers during the 'Rythu Ashirvada Sabha' event at the Jagannadhapuram–Mathkepalli crossroad in Chinthakani Mandal of Khammam district. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, along with his Cabinet colleagues, is scheduled to participate in the programme to mark the completion of a total Rs 9,000 crore investment support disbursed over nine days.

Addressing a press conference at the Lachagudem Rythu Vedika after inspecting arrangements for the event, Vikramarka stated that the state government's primary objective is to strengthen the agricultural sector and support the farming community. He noted that the upcoming Rs 1,009 crore transfer would follow the record Rs 8,759 crore already released to farmers over the preceding nine days, bringing the total release for this season to Rs 9,000 crore within the nine-day period.

Vikramarka contrasted the performance of the current Congress administration with the previous BRS government. He stated that while the previous government spent Rs 72,000 crore on the scheme over a ten-year period, the current Congress government has released Rs 35,839 crore under Rythu Bharosa in just two and a half years of assuming office.

According to the Deputy Chief Minister, the government has spent a total of Rs 1,67,877 crore on various welfare programmes for farmers. This expenditure includes funds for Rythu Bharosa, farm loan waivers, crop bonuses, crop insurance, crop loss compensation, agricultural power subsidies, farm mechanisation, Atmiya Bharosa, Indiramma schemes, and irrigation projects.

Vikramarka highlighted that Khammam district is a key agricultural hub where farming is the primary livelihood, supported by the Nagarjuna Sagar Left Canal and other irrigation projects. He added that the event was named "Rythu Ashirvada Sabha" based on the request of the local farmers themselves rather than government officials. He appealed to farmers from across the district and the state to attend the event in large numbers.
