Telangana to Partner With Indian Army for Youth Recruitment Drives

HYDERABAD — Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy affirmed on Wednesday that the Telangana government is ready to collaborate with the Indian Army to encourage the state's youth to participate in various army recruitment drives, following a high-level meeting in Hyderabad.

General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command of the Indian Army Lieutenant General C. Rajesh Pushkar met with Revanth Reddy to discuss multiple matters, including recruitment awareness and disaster response coordination.

During the discussion, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy appealed to army authorities to organise targeted training programmes in identified district headquarters. The initiative aims to create awareness and better prepare local youth for upcoming recruitment opportunities.

Lieutenant General Pushkar responded positively to the proposal, announcing his readiness to set up army training centers for youth in various Telangana district headquarters ahead of nationwide recruitment drives.

Revanth Reddy also highlighted the army's critical role in disaster management, emphasizing the need for proactive involvement in rescue operations, evacuating residents to safety, and aiding rehabilitation efforts in flood-affected regions. Lieutenant General Pushkar assured the Chief Minister that local Army officials would be instructed to take special initiative during emergency and disaster situations in the state.

During the meeting, the Army official also commended the state government's Musi River rejuvenation project, stating that restoring the Musi River is essential to protect Hyderabad by reducing pollution and bringing back the city's historical glory.
