Telangana to launch Rs 351 crore Bhadrachalam temple restoration on June 27

The Telangana government is scheduled to launch the redevelopment and restoration works at the Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy temple in Bhadrachalam on June 27. Revenue, Housing, and Information Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy announced the details of the project, which aims to preserve the spiritual and architectural heritage of the historic shrine.
Minister Srinivasa Reddy shared these details after reviewing the preparations with officials of the endowments department and temple authorities at the Secretariat. During the review meeting, he emphasized that the upcoming works would be taken up in strict accordance with Agama Shastra norms to preserve the spiritual and architectural heritage of the famed shrine, which is often referred to as "Dakshina Ayodhya."
To fund the extensive project, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has sanctioned ₹351 crore. The minister explained that this redevelopment is aimed at meeting the needs of devotees for the next two centuries, making it a long-term investment in the temple's infrastructure.
The state government has issued strict directives to the officials involved in the project. They must ensure that the temple’s traditional character and sanctity are not disturbed at any point during the execution of the works.
To maintain this sanctity, Minister Srinivasa Reddy specifically instructed officials to prioritize stone structures and traditional temple architecture. This approach is intended to ensure that the renovated complex continues to reflect the shrine’s historic and spiritual significance.
Ultimately, the project is designed to serve as a model for future generations while significantly enhancing facilities for the growing number of pilgrims who visit the temple in Bhadrachalam.
