Telangana to Integrate 96 Approvals into TG-iPASS 2.0 Digital Platform

The Telangana government is integrating nearly 96 approvals into a single digital platform under TG-iPASS 2.0, Director of Industries Nikhil Chakravarthy announced during a seminar held on the occasion of National Paper Day.

The expanded single-window system will incorporate approvals for commercial, educational, clinical, and other establishments alongside a deemed approval mechanism. Under the TG-iPASS framework, industries are scheduled to receive clearances within 30 days, failing which applications are automatically deemed approved.

Mr. Chakravarthy stated that the government is working to provide statutory backing to allow green and white category industries, which have minimal environmental impact, to begin operations immediately while obtaining post-establishment approvals over an adequate timeframe. He noted that the initiative aims to simplify and accelerate business establishment and expansion across the state.

Addressing paper industry stakeholders, Mr. Chakravarthy called on businesses to adopt innovation, sustainability, and technological advancements to remain competitive globally. The seminar was organised by the Federation of Paper Traders Association in association with the Telangana Paper Merchants’ Association.

During the event, Federation of Paper Traders Association President Elect T. Kishan Singh highlighted the fast-evolving nature of the paper trade due to digital transformation and changing consumer demands. He appealed to the government to reduce the Goods and Services Tax on paper and paperboard packaging from 18% to 5%. Telangana Paper Merchants’ Association President Abhishek Vijaywargiya and Secretary Ashish Jain Bhansali were also present and addressed the gathering.
