Telangana to Formulate Logistics Policy 2.0 and Build Logistics Park in Manoharabad

The Telangana government is formulating the State Logistics Policy 2.0 and developing a multi-modal logistics park in Manoharabad, alongside specific City Logistics Plans for Hyderabad and Warangal, state officials announced in Hyderabad on Friday.
The State Commerce and Export Promotion Department confirmed that an Integrated Logistics Master Plan is also being prepared to support Telangana's objective of emerging as a globally competitive logistics gateway. In addition to the multi-modal logistics park (MMLP) planned in Manoharabad, the State is pursuing measures to upgrade air cargo infrastructure and drive skill development across the air logistics sector.
According to the department, logistics is viewed as a vital driver of economic expansion. The administration is prioritising interventions designed to lower logistics costs, expand multimodal transport connectivity, draw investments, and streamline the movement of goods within Telangana and to neighboring regions.
The plans were detailed in a release issued during the PM GatiShakti and LEADS 2025 Dissemination Workshop for Southern States, which was held in Hyderabad. The regional session was organised by the Centre's Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and inaugurated by Telangana Director of Industries and Export Commissioner Nikhil Chakravarthi.
This event marked the first time Telangana played host to the Southern Regional Workshop. Senior administrative officials, industry leaders, trade associations, and logistics sector representatives took part from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep.
Discussions at the workshop centered on improving logistics efficiency, advancing integrated infrastructure planning, and easing regional freight movement under the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan framework. The department noted that Telangana has consistently participated in the Logistics Ease Across Different States (LEADS) assessment, where it has earned recognition as a top-performing landlocked state.
