Telangana to Expand IVF Services in State Hospitals, Strengthen ART Laws

Health Minister Ch Damodar Raja Narasimha has instructed health department officials to expand fertility and in vitro fertilisation (IVF) services across government hospitals in Telangana and enforce stricter compliance with reproductive health laws.
Under the directive, officials will work to strengthen existing government IVF centres operating at Gandhi Hospital and Petlaburj Maternity Hospital in Hyderabad. The Minister also directed the administration to prepare comprehensive proposals for a phased rollout of public IVF facilities to district-level hospitals across the state.
In addition to scaling up state-run infrastructure, Raja Narasimha called for the rigorous implementation of the Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) and Surrogacy laws in private fertility clinics. He instructed authorities to initiate strict action against private centres found violating established regulations.
The Minister emphasised the need for greater transparency across all fertility services to protect patients from unfair practices and prevent unnecessary financial burdens on families seeking reproductive medical care.
