Telangana to Deposit ₹2,400 Crore Fee Reimbursement in Advance, Says CM Revanth

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced that the state government will deposit ₹2,400 crore towards student fee reimbursement directly into bank accounts in advance starting this academic year. He made the announcement during a public gathering at Necklace Road in Hyderabad, following the unveiling of statues of social reformers Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule.

The Chief Minister confirmed that ₹250 crore has already been released and made available for immediate payments. Under the restructured direct benefit transfer system, fee reimbursement amounts are scheduled to be credited within a month of submitting an online application. The policy change is designed to stop colleges from withholding educational certificates from graduating students due to delayed government disbursements.

Speaking on employment readiness, Reddy stated that formal academic qualifications alone are no longer adequate in a competitive job market. He announced the rollout of an integrated skill development curriculum spanning from Nursery through Class 12 to ensure students acquire technical proficiencies. He noted international opportunities, including 2 lakh nursing vacancies across Germany and Japan, as potential pathways for skilled youth.

To facilitate practical training, the state government has operationalized Advanced Technical Centers across 119 constituencies in partnership with the Tata Group. Students enrolled at these centers receive technical training along with a monthly stipend of ₹2,000.

Highlighting the administration's affirmative action record, the Chief Minister stated that 60% of candidates selected in recent Group-1 recruitment belonged to Backward Classes. He also referenced Telangana's comprehensive BC caste census and the implementation of SC categorisation.

Paying tribute to Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule, Reddy pledged to focus on building educational infrastructure across the state, including integrated residential schools designed to foster inclusive learning environments.
