Telangana Swimmers Aarush Das and Shivani Karra Win Medals at National Aquatics

Telangana swimmer Aarush Das won a bronze medal in the boys’ 50m backstroke event at the 42nd Sub-Junior National Aquatic Championships in Jaipur, while fellow state swimmer Shivani Karra secured a silver medal in the girls’ 100m freestyle event. Both young athletes train under Ayush Yadav, the head coach of the Sports Authority of Telangana at the Gachibowli aquatics complex in Hyderabad.

In the boys' 50m backstroke competition, Aarush Das clocked a time of 29.44 seconds to finish third and bag the bronze medal for Telangana. Krishiv Doshi of Madhya Pradesh took first place with a time of 30.36 seconds, while Shlok Sunil Jadhav of Karnataka finished second with a time of 30.45 seconds.

In the girls' 100m freestyle event, Shivani Karra settled for the silver medal after posting a time of 1:01.28. Her silver finish comes after she won a gold medal the previous day in the championship. Dhivashree Kesavan of Tamil Nadu took gold in the event with a time of 1:00.23, while Indraany M. Menon of Kerala earned the bronze medal with a timing of 1:01.66.

Both medalists continue their training in Hyderabad at the Gachibowli aquatics complex under coach Ayush Yadav as part of the Sports Authority of Telangana.
