Telangana releases ₹1,590 crore Rythu Bharosa aid to 10.68 lakh farmers

HYDERABAD — The Telangana state government has released ₹1,590.02 crore to 10.68 lakh farmers across the state under the second phase of its Rythu Bharosa investment support scheme. The official announcement was made in Hyderabad by Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, who confirmed that the financial assistance has been directly credited to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.

This latest fund release specifically targets farmers who own between two and three acres of agricultural land. According to the minister, this phase of the program's rollout covers a total of 26.50 lakh acres of farmland.

With this disbursement, the cumulative financial assistance provided under the Rythu Bharosa scheme has reached ₹4,072.04 crore. In total, the flagship program has now benefited 54.96 lakh farmers across Telangana.

This second-phase payment follows an earlier release of ₹2,482.02 crore during the first phase of the scheme. That initial phase supported 44.27 lakh farmers who own up to two acres of land.

Minister Rao explained that the state government adopted a phased disbursal process to ensure the smooth transfer of funds directly into bank accounts and to avoid any inconvenience to the beneficiaries. He assured that all remaining eligible farmers in the state would receive their financial assistance in the upcoming phases of the scheme.

The Rythu Bharosa scheme is designed to provide timely investment support to farmers to help them meet their cultivation expenses and to strengthen the agricultural sector in Telangana. The state government has maintained that the phased release of funds is necessary to maintain an orderly and efficient credit of assistance to all eligible beneficiaries.
