Telangana Rejigs Jubilee Hills Elevated Corridor Plan Into Two Packages

The Telangana government has restructured the elevated corridor project between Jubilee Hills Check Post Junction and NFCL Junction into two distinct packages to create a continuous flyover ending at Muffakham Jah College with a connecting ramp to Banjara Hills Road No. 1. The Metropolitan Area and Urban Development department issued orders on Tuesday, October 7, 2026, approving the revised plan submitted by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner.
As part of the restructuring, the government cancelled previously approved flyover and underpass works planned at the TV9 and NFCL junctions. The work across both revised packages has been entrusted to the existing contractor, Megha Engineering & Infrastructures (MEIL).
Under the newly approved alignment, Package-1 has been altered from earlier proposals for individual flyovers and underpasses at Jubilee Hills Check Post, KBR Park Entrance, and Mugdha junctions. It now covers the first section of a steel flyover stretching from Jubilee Hills Check Post Junction to Mugdha Junction. The sanctioned project cost remains unchanged at ₹580 crore, while the Internal Bench Mark (IBM) cost has been revised upward from ₹322.16 crore to ₹365.85 crore.
Package-2 has also seen major revisions in its physical scope and location. The previous plan encompassed Road No. 45, Film Nagar, Maharaja Agrasen, and Cancer Hospital junctions. The revised contract now covers the second section of the steel flyover from Mugdha Junction to Muffakham Jah College, along with a dedicated ramp connecting to Banjara Hills Road No. 1. The sanctioned expenditure for Package-2 stays at ₹510 crore, with its revised IBM cost raised from ₹272.89 crore to ₹349.31 crore.
Additionally, the state government revoked the letter of acceptance previously issued to KNR Constructions for works at NFCL Junction and TV9 Junction. Those cancelled components included a two-lane unidirectional flyover at NFCL Junction, alongside a two-lane unidirectional underpass and a three-lane unidirectional flyover at TV9 Junction. The government directed that deposits paid by the firm during the tendering process be refunded.
The municipal administration has permitted the GHMC to present the revised engineering proposals before the Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) Committee. The existing project management consultants overseeing both KBR Park packages have been retained to supervise the execution, and the state government formally ratified the civic body's modifications to the project designs and scope.
