Telangana Records 78.26% SIR Digitisation as Enumeration Closes

Telangana achieved 78.26 per cent digitisation of enumeration forms for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls as the house-to-house enumeration phase concluded on Monday evening, August 10, 2026. Chief Electoral Officer C Sudarshan Reddy released a final status report covering all 33 districts of the state after the Election Commission of India-mandated deadline came to a close following multiple schedule extensions.

District-level data released by the Chief Electoral Officer highlighted significant variations in completion rates across the state. Yadadri-Bhongiri district secured the top spot statewide in digitisation, achieving 94.31 per cent completion. In contrast, Hyderabad district recorded the lowest digitisation rate in Telangana at 58.89 per cent. Out of a total of 47,36,669 electors registered in Hyderabad district, enumerations were submitted by 27,89,214 electors.

According to the final status report, a total of 3,38,26,448 enumeration forms were distributed to electors across all 33 districts in Telangana during the Special Intensive Revision process. Of the total forms distributed, 2,64,73,616 enumeration forms were submitted by electors and subsequently digitised.

The report specified that the remaining 73,52,832 electors who did not have digitised submissions were to be treated as either having not submitted their enumeration forms or as 'Absent, Shifted or Dead' (ASD) electors.

Following the conclusion of the enumeration phase, the Chief Electoral Officer outlined the upcoming key dates under the revised SIR schedule. The draft electoral rolls are scheduled for official publication on August 17.

From August 17 to September 16, electors will have a designated period to file claims and objections regarding the draft electoral rolls. The serving of notices and the disposal of all claims and objections will take place from August 17 through October 15. The final publication of the updated electoral rolls across Telangana is set for October 19.
