Telangana Pushes for Quick Clearances for Hyderabad Metro Phase-II

Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan has urged all stakeholder departments to issue no-objection certificates (NOCs) without delay to expedite work on the Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-II project, following a coordination meeting held at the Secretariat in Hyderabad.
Ranjan emphasised that timely clearances from various state and central bodies are critical to securing necessary permissions from the Central government and ensuring the transit expansion advances without delay. The meeting was organised as part of the formal process to secure clearance for the Phase-II project from the Network Planning Group of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
Hyderabad Metro Rail Managing Director Sarfaraz Ahmad underscored the urgent need for expanding the metro network across the city. He requested all departments with jurisdictions overlapping the alignment to issue NOCs for the proposed corridors at the earliest.

The meeting was attended by HMRL Joint Managing Director Shivendra Pratap, the commissioners of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and CMC, alongside senior representatives from South Central Railway, the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Civil Aviation, and GHAIL.
