Telangana Net State Domestic Product Rises to ₹16.15 Lakh Crore, RBI Data Shows

HYDERABAD — Telangana’s net state domestic product (NSDP) at current prices grew by 10.8 per cent to reach ₹16.15 lakh crore in 2025-26, up from ₹14.58 lakh crore in the previous fiscal year, according to the Reserve Bank of India’s latest Handbook of Statistics on the Indian Economy 2025-26 report.

The data, compiled from the National Statistics Office, demonstrated real economic growth of approximately 8.8 per cent, with NSDP at constant prices climbing to ₹7.86 lakh crore from ₹7.23 lakh crore. Alongside overall income expansion, Telangana’s per-capita NSDP at current prices reached ₹4,18,931 in 2025-26, marking a single-year increase of more than ₹38,900 or about 10.2 per cent. At constant prices, per-capita NSDP rose to ₹2,04,022 in 2025-26, up from ₹1,40,743 recorded in 2020-21.

Services and allied activities served as major drivers of the expansion. Within trade, repair, hotels, and restaurants, current-price output rose sharply to ₹3,31,528 crore from ₹2,83,799 crore in 2024-25. Real estate, dwelling ownership, and professional services increased to ₹3,34,688 crore from ₹2,99,694 crore. Transport, storage, communication, and broadcasting services grew to ₹1,09,996 crore from ₹96,233 crore, while financial services expanded to ₹80,183 crore from ₹71,496 crore.

Industrial and utility sectors also posted gains. Manufacturing output at current prices expanded from ₹1,04,472 crore to ₹1,12,490 crore, while construction rose to ₹84,960 crore from ₹76,256 crore. Utility services—including electricity, gas, and water supply—increased to ₹27,396 crore from ₹24,731 crore, and mining and quarrying contributed ₹30,137 crore. The primary sector, covering agriculture, livestock, forestry, and fishing, generated ₹2,03,341 crore compared to ₹1,99,705 crore in 2024-25.

Overall net state value added (NSVA) at basic prices at current prices climbed from ₹13,35,894 crore in 2024-25 to ₹14,81,185 crore in 2025-26, while total constant-price NSVA increased to ₹6,94,972 crore. The figures show steady multi-year progress for the state economy, which stood at ₹8.49 lakh crore at current prices in 2020-21.
