Telangana Ministers Pay Tribute to G Venkataswamy on Birth Anniversary

Labour Minister G Vivek Venkataswamy, BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, and Minorities Welfare Minister Mohammed Azharuddin paid tributes to senior Congress leader G Venkataswamy on his birth anniversary in Hyderabad on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Prabhakar said that while millions of people are born into the world, only a few leave an indelible mark on history, identifying Venkataswamy as one such leader. He described him as a personality committed to ethics and justice, who consistently responded to the issues of the poor, the downtrodden, and the weak, dedicating his life to their welfare.

Recalling his personal association with the veteran leader, Prabhakar stated that he felt fortunate to have worked with him in the political arena. He said Venkataswamy guided him on numerous occasions when he entered politics, offering advice on understanding the difficulties faced by the public, conducting oneself in political life, and standing by the impoverished.

Prabhakar noted that Venkataswamy responded to difficulties faced by others as though they were his own. He remarked that the former leader's mindset and sense of service across political and social life remain a model for today's generation.

Highlighting his contribution to the statehood agitation, Prabhakar said the realization of Telangana was a central aspiration of Venkataswamy's life. He recalled collaborating with him during the Telangana movement, noting that Venkataswamy provided valuable suggestions on mobilizing people, pursuing the agitation, and convincing diverse sections of society politically.

Prabhakar added that Venkataswamy's family continues to carry forward his public service aspirations, pointing out that one son is serving as a minister, another as an MLA, and his grandson as a Member of Parliament. He urged followers and political leaders to embrace Venkataswamy’s spirit of service, emphasizing that upholding justice for the poor and oppressed is the true tribute to his memory.
