Telangana Launches Mission K-100 To Streamline Kharif Grain Procurement

The Telangana Civil Supplies Department on Tuesday officially launched 'Mission K-100', a comprehensive 100-day action plan designed to streamline grain storage, logistics, and financial management across the state. The initiative was set in motion during a high-level coordination meeting held at the Civil Supplies Bhavan in Hyderabad, aiming to fully prepare the state's procurement system before the arrival of the new crop at various procurement centres.

The primary objective of Mission K-100 is to ensure seamless procurement operations specifically for the upcoming Kharif 2026–27 season. By implementing this 100-day targeted plan, the department aims to accelerate the clearance of existing stocks and significantly improve coordination among all key stakeholders involved in the agricultural supply chain.

Commissioner of Civil Supplies M. Stephen Raveendra chaired the crucial meeting at the Civil Supplies Bhavan. He was joined by the Food Corporation of India (FCI) General Manager, G.N. Raju, to discuss the immediate implementation of the action plan and to address pressing operational challenges.

A major focus of the high-level meeting was the resolution of ongoing logistical and financial bottlenecks that could potentially impact the upcoming Kharif procurement season. During the discussions, Commissioner Raveendra urged the FCI to urgently allocate adequate storage space. This allocation is deemed critical to facilitate the swift evacuation of pending grain stocks currently occupying space in state facilities.

In addition to logistical concerns, state officials raised critical financial matters during the meeting. The Telangana Civil Supplies Department representatives formally sought the early release of long-pending financial dues from the FCI. Officials noted that the release of these outstanding funds is necessary to strengthen the department's working capital and ensure smooth financial operations during the procurement cycle.

Through the execution of Mission K-100 over the next 100 days, both the Telangana Civil Supplies Department and the FCI plan to work in close coordination to resolve these storage and financial bottlenecks, ensuring the system is fully prepared for the Kharif 2026–27 harvest.
