Telangana Invests Rs 52.50 Crore to Upgrade Nizamia Tibbi College and Hospital

The Telangana government has initiated active measures to strengthen Unani healthcare infrastructure at the Government Nizamia Tibbi College and Hospital in Hyderabad. Telangana Health Minister C Damodar Rajanarasimha recently conducted a comprehensive review of the functioning of the Ayush department and the hospital, directing officials to complete ongoing construction works on a war footing.
During the high-level review meeting, Minister Rajanarasimha instructed officials to expedite the construction of a new outpatient (OP) block and a pharmacy building at the hospital. He also emphasized the critical need to fast-track the process of filling vacant posts within the department to ensure smooth operations and better healthcare delivery for the public.
To guarantee high-quality patient care, the Health Minister ordered officials to ensure the uninterrupted availability of medicines and essential infrastructure at the facility. These directives are part of the state government's broader commitment to improving the delivery of Unani healthcare services and reinforcing the public health system.
In addition to physical infrastructure upgrades, the review focused on strengthening Ayush medical education across the state. The Minister reviewed the recent recruitment of 138 Assistant Professors, a move designed to enhance academic standards and address teaching staff requirements in the medical education sector.
The state government has committed a total investment of Rs 52.50 crore for the Government Nizamia Tibbi College and Hospital. This financial allocation will be utilized for the restoration of the institution's heritage buildings, as well as the construction of brand-new healthcare facilities on the college campus.
Through these combined efforts in infrastructure development, heritage conservation, human resource management, and medical education, the Telangana government aims to reinforce the overall Unani healthcare system. The initiatives are expected to significantly improve the capacity of the Government Nizamia Tibbi College and Hospital to serve patients and train future medical professionals.
