Telangana High Court Orders Responses on Delayed Suchitra-Kompally Elevated Corridor

On Thursday, July 16, 2026, Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy of the Telangana High Court granted time to respondent authorities to file their responses to a writ petition seeking the expeditious completion of the Suchitra-Kompally elevated corridor on National Highway-44 in Hyderabad.

The legal action addresses the prolonged construction delays of the corridor, which has caused significant hardship for local residents and commuters in the Kompally and Suchitra areas.

The writ petition was filed by C. Snehith Reddy, a resident of Kompally. In his petition, Reddy raised serious concerns over the delayed infrastructure project, pointing out that the timeline for completion has been repeatedly extended with no end in sight.

According to the petitioner, the incomplete state of the Suchitra-Kompally elevated corridor has resulted in severe traffic congestion on National Highway-44. Additionally, the ongoing construction has created hazardous commuting conditions and led to frequent accidents along the stretch, posing safety risks to those who travel through the area daily.

Through the petition, Reddy is seeking official directions from the High Court to compel key authorities to act. The respondents in the case include the Union Government, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), and Telangana State authorities.

The petitioner has requested that these authorities be ordered to take immediate, concrete, and time-bound steps to complete the elevated corridor. The plea also demands that safety measures be improved immediately on the hazardous stretch to prevent further accidents.

During the hearing, Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy accepted the request for more time from the respondent authorities. The judge granted them the necessary time to place their official responses on record and subsequently posted the matter for further hearing.
