Telangana High Court Orders Removal of HYDRAA Chief A.V. Ranganath

Telangana High Court Orders Removal of HYDRAA Chief A.V. Ranganath

The Telangana High Court on Monday directed the state Chief Secretary to relieve IPS officer A.V. Ranganath from his position as the chief of the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) in Hyderabad and appoint a suitable replacement.

The court's directive came after it expressed strong dissatisfaction with the officer's apology during a contempt matter. Taking a serious view of the situation, the court observed that it was not appropriate for a senior official to face as many as 63 contempt cases.

Passing the order, Justice Anil Kumar instructed the Telangana state government to ensure full compliance with the directions and appoint a new officer to lead HYDRAA.
