Telangana High Court Disposed 88.56% of Cases in Past Year, Says Chief Justice

The Telangana High Court disposed of 88.56 per cent of cases instituted over the past year, Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh announced during Independence Day celebrations at the High Court in Hyderabad.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Justice Singh called on the judiciary to rededicate itself to the ideals of the freedom movement, reaffirm its faith in the Constitution, and strengthen institutions safeguarding democracy. Emphasising the shared duty of the Bench and the Bar, he noted that collective efforts remain vital to ensure qualitative and speedy disposal of cases.

During his address, the Chief Justice outlined ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening the judicial ecosystem in Telangana across physical infrastructure, human resources, and technology. He noted that the foundation stone was laid for Zone II of the new High Court building complex at Rajendra Nagar, where construction work has achieved approximately 20.25 per cent progress against a projected 24.44 per cent.

Chief Justice Singh also highlighted an initiative undertaken through a Memorandum of Understanding with the School Education Department to promote legal literacy. Under this programme, 1,753 school teachers were trained on child-related laws, access to justice, and awareness regarding safe and unsafe touch.
