Telangana Health Officials Represent State at Central Council Meeting in Delhi

Senior Telangana health officials represented the state at a meeting of the Central Council of Health & Family Welfare (CCHFW) in Delhi on Monday to discuss measures to strengthen public healthcare services.
The state delegation was led by Dr. Christina Z. Chongthu, the Principal Secretary of Health for Telangana, and Dr. Sangeetha Satyanarayana, the Telangana Health Commissioner. The meeting was organized as the Central government sought views from various states on measures to further strengthen coordination and improve the overall quality of public healthcare services.
Telangana Health Minister Damodar Rajanrasimha was originally scheduled to attend the council meeting in Delhi. However, the minister had to cancel his visit to the national capital, citing unavoidable reasons.
Before the delegation left for the meeting, Minister Rajanrasimha held a meeting with the officials in Hyderabad. During this briefing, he provided instructions and briefed Dr. Chongthu and Dr. Satyanarayana on the key agenda items that were scheduled for discussion at the council meeting in Delhi.
The CCHFW meeting, chaired by Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda, involved detailed deliberations on several key public health issues. The discussions focused heavily on the implementation of the National Health Mission (NHM) across states.
Additionally, the council deliberated on digital health initiatives, allied health services, food safety measures, and various public health programmes aimed at improving the reach and quality of public healthcare.
The participation of the Telangana officials ensured that the state's perspectives on these crucial health initiatives, including the National Health Mission and food safety, were represented at the national level during the joint discussions.
