Telangana Govt Felicitates Youngistaan Foundation at Ravindra Bharathi

The Telangana government felicitated Hyderabad-based non-profit organisation Youngistaan Foundation at Ravindra Bharathi in Hyderabad on October 1 for its contributions toward the welfare, care, and social inclusion of senior citizens across the city.
The honour was presented during the State-level observance of the International Day of Older Persons 2026. Adluri Laxman Kumar, Minister for Scheduled Castes Development, Tribal Welfare, Welfare of Persons with Disabilities, Senior Citizens and Transgender Persons, formally presented the felicitation to the non-profit group.
Youngistaan Foundation has reached more than 850 senior citizens throughout Hyderabad through a range of community support initiatives. The organisation’s network extends across 15 senior citizen and elder-care homes, as well as more than 30 gated communities, senior citizen welfare associations, and residential welfare associations.
As part of its ongoing welfare operations, the foundation provides essential provisions including groceries, food, and medicines to elderly residents. It also provides direct support to old-age homes and offers targeted counselling and rehabilitation services to vulnerable and homeless senior citizens across the urban area.
The organisation is currently broadening its outreach through Senior Saathi, an intergenerational companionship programme created in collaboration with the Hyderabad District Administration and the Department for Welfare of Disabled and Senior Citizens. Under this initiative, trained youth volunteers are paired directly with senior citizens to engage in regular conversations, reading sessions, games, walks, shared meals, and wider community activities.
