Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla Unfurls National Flag at Lok Bhavan in Hyderabad

Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla unfurled the national flag at the 80th Independence Day celebrations held at Lok Bhavan in Hyderabad on Saturday, calling upon citizens to contribute to the creation of a developed and self-reliant India.

During the event, the Governor received a ceremonial salute from police personnel. The gathering at Lok Bhavan included the Governor’s spouse Janaki Shukla, Special Chief Secretary to the Governor M. Dana Kishore, Joint Secretary K. Shashikiranachary, and several officers and staff members of the institution.

Extending his greetings to the public, Shukla recalled the sacrifices of freedom fighters and national leaders, stating that their courage and patriotism must guide the country toward the goal of Viksit Bharat. He remarked that India is advancing rapidly toward becoming the third-largest economy in the world while upholding unity in diversity.

Highlighting regional development, Shukla described Telangana as a key growth engine for the country. He noted that Hyderabad has established itself as a major hub for information technology, Artificial Intelligence, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology. He also pointed to advancements in the state's agriculture sector driven by irrigation projects, observing that Telangana has built a distinct identity as a centre for innovation.

The Governor stressed that technological and economic progress should be accompanied by social welfare and youth empowerment. He identified public health and social initiatives, including TB Mukt Bharat and Nasha Mukt Bharat, as critical priorities and urged citizens and institutions to participate in eradicating tuberculosis and curbing drug abuse among youth.

Shukla also paid tribute to the armed forces and security personnel serving along the nation's borders, noting that their vigilance and sacrifices ensure the security necessary for continued national development.
