Telangana Gets Over 60,000 Applications for 7,340 Indiramma Flats

The application process for the Telangana government's Indiramma Houses in 16 Assembly constituencies across the Hyderabad Core Urban Region (CURE) concluded on Saturday, drawing a massive response from the public.

A total of 60,014 applications were submitted by Saturday evening for the 7,340 affordable flats available in these 16 constituencies. Lottery draws to select beneficiaries will take place after August 20, once the verification of submitted applications is complete.

Telangana Housing Board Vice Chairman V.P. Gautham stated that measures are underway to commence construction work in the first week of next month. Tenders for the construction works have already been invited.

In addition to the initial 16 constituencies, the Telangana Housing Board has opened applications for 1,920 more flats across four additional Assembly constituencies. These include Amangal (Hayatnagar) in L.B. Nagar, Goshamahal, Jamistanpur in Musheerabad, and Bandlaguda near Falaknuma in Chandrayangutta. Applications for these four constituencies will be accepted from Sunday, August 16, through September 3, 2026.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy laid the foundation stone for the construction of Indiramma Towers on Thursday, August 13. The residential units will be constructed as stilt-plus-10-storey towers as part of the state government's initiative to build one lakh affordable flats in the CURE region. Under the pilot project, 480 flats will be built in each Assembly constituency.

Each flat offers a built-up area of 528 square feet, comprising a hall, bedroom, and kitchen. The state government is providing a subsidy of ₹5 lakh per flat, while each selected beneficiary will contribute ₹6 lakh in installments.
