Telangana Extends Indiramma Housing Scheme Application Deadline to August 15

The Telangana state government late on Monday extended the application deadline for the Indiramma housing scheme in Hyderabad by five days, moving the final date to August 15. Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced the extension in view of consecutive holidays, including the second Saturday and Bonalu, to ensure eligible beneficiaries do not miss the opportunity to apply.
As of Monday evening, a total of 46,121 applications had been received since the registration process opened on July 21. Among the constituencies, Kukatpally recorded the highest number of applications at 6,615, followed by Quthbullapur with 5,571 and Khairatabad with 5,518. Maheshwaram recorded the lowest count, receiving 734 applications. Applicants have been submitting their forms through MeeSeva centres, online portals, and the MeeSeva WhatsApp service.
Under the overall initiative, the government plans to construct one lakh houses within the Outer Ring Road limits of Hyderabad, covering all Assembly constituencies in the area. As part of an initial pilot project, 7,340 houses are currently being constructed across 16 constituencies. Other constituencies recording applications include Nampally with 4,372, Malakpet with 3,609, Serilingampally with 3,488, Amberpet with 3,073, Karwan with 2,184, Rajendranagar with 2,060, Secunderabad Cantonment with 1,755, Bahadurpura with 1,706, Medchal with 1,668, Sanathnagar with 1,404, Malkajgiri with 1,333, and Ibrahimpatnam with 1,031.
Minister Reddy directed housing department officials to make all necessary arrangements to receive applications during the extended period. He instructed officials to ensure the five-day extension does not cause delays in subsequent stages, including scrutiny, eligibility verification, allotment, and the lottery process. The minister requested that the entire house allotment process be completed by the end of August, assuring applicants that allotments will be made transparently and impartially based on eligibility criteria.
