Telangana Extends HILT Application Deadline to October 31 After Low Industry Response

The government of Telangana has extended the application deadline for the HILT scheme to October 31 following a lukewarm response from industrial units across the state.

A total of 9,292 acres of industrial land have been identified under the initiative. However, applications received so far cover only 450 acres, leaving the vast majority of the earmarked land non-applied in the ongoing industrial land debate.

Industries have cited several key concerns that contributed to the low response rate. Primary issues include conversion costs, land values, relocation challenges, and development impact fees associated with the process.

The policy implementation has seen political debate involving KTR, with up to 10,000 acres considered at risk as the state attempts to drive participation ahead of the revised October 31 deadline.
