Telangana Electoral Roll To Shrink By 73.5 Lakh Entries Before Draft Release On August 17

HYDERABAD — Telangana's electoral roll is expected to shrink by around 73.5 lakh entries following the conclusion of the enumeration phase of an intensive voter-roll revision, ahead of the draft roll publication scheduled for August 17.

As part of the ongoing administrative exercise in Hyderabad and across the state, tens of lakh voter entries have been flagged for deletion. In addition, thousands of voter forms currently remain stuck and are still awaiting processing.

Officials stated that the massive voter-roll revision is aimed at cleaning up the electoral database. The exercise focuses specifically on identifying duplicate, shifted, and deceased voters to ensure an accurate roll.

The scale of the voter-roll cleanup directly impacts millions of citizens across Telangana. For voters, the primary concern remains whether genuine voters will be retained on the final official list.
