Telangana Education Department invites applications for 202 teaching vacancies

The Telangana School Education Department has invited applications from gazetted headmasters and school assistants to fill 202 teaching vacancies in various educational institutions, including the Institute of Advanced Study in Education (IASE) in Masab Tank and the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT). The recruitment process, which includes a computer-based test to be held in Hyderabad, aims to address the shortage of staff for teacher education courses through a temporary deputation arrangement.
Applications will be accepted from July 4 to July 14, with a correction window scheduled for July 17. The computer-based test (CBT) will be conducted in Hyderabad from July 25 to July 31. This will be followed by interviews and demonstrations from August 6 to August 8, and the final deputation orders will be issued on August 10.
Out of the 202 vacant lecturer posts, 131 are located in 10 District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs), 36 in three Colleges of Teacher Education (CTEs), 17 at the IASE in Masab Tank, and 18 at the SCERT. The stop-gap arrangement is being implemented because these lecturer posts have remained vacant, affecting teacher education courses.
Eligible applicants must be gazetted headmasters or school assistants currently working in government and local-body schools. Candidates must be under 58 years of age as of June 30 and have completed at least five years of qualifying service. The application fee is ₹500 for each test session.
The CBT will carry 80 marks and consist of 80 multiple-choice questions to be completed in two hours, with no negative marking. The interview and demonstration stages will carry 20 marks, and candidates will be shortlisted in a 1:3 ratio.
Selected teachers will be appointed on deputation under foreign service terms and conditions for one year, or until regular appointments are made, whichever is earlier. While they will retain their pay, they cannot claim seniority or regularisation based on this temporary arrangement.
